In the first chapter the character eyes were captivating: Adelaide had bright golden eyes and then they became old brass color and lost all their expressivity. At some point I stopped looking at their eyes, especially the Marquis's who was supposed to be a man in love but I couldn't perceive any emotion from him.
The artist could have just added a white dot to make the characters feel at least alive if not expressive.
Side note: they all cry too much...
