Im now in ch127 and I still can't read the emperor's true personality. I mean I get that he's greedy and he's after what will give him more power and benefit. It's just that he's presented as someone with malicious intent but always decides to do things that are somehow for the best interests of Perez and the Lombardis. It throws me off everytime. Is it like a "your enemy's(empress) enemy(perez/the Lombardis) is your friend" situation? Why is he doing things as if to spite the empress though? I mightve missed that part

From my understanding, he’s trying to make sure the two powerful families stay under his control. His main focus is power and to keep it, he needs all the noble families to bow down to him. By creating conflicts between the two families, he makes sure that they both still have to ask HIM for favours so HE gets the final say. Obviously he’s pretty stupid so things don’t end up going his way and he gets pushed around a lot, but his intentions are still just to control everything around him.

Following the revelation in the latest chapter (as of ch53), my questions still remain, and I've added a few more:
What is the game's true purpose?
How are Doha and the others connected to the game's creator?
[ANSWERED] Are Bada and the others real people outside the game? Or are they simply just players/characters in the game that became sentient?
Bada is the only NPC in the game, while the others (Doha, YongTaek, Seongchan, Bae Hyungshin) are actual players.
Why and how did they become trapped in the game?
Since this follows typical game technicalities, does this mean there’s a way to hack the game so that NPCs can escape as well? (an NPC was able to become a player, so maybe it's possible??)
What's the direction of the plot? Is it sci-fi (virtual reality world), fantasy (they were transported into the game), or something more spiritual (like purgatory, where the game acts as a dream-like state, and each character/player represents a deeper meaning or unresolved issue in the main character's life)?

YUP CALLED IT (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
- Theory 2-3: https://www.mangago.zone/home/mangatopic/17824636/
In hindsight, it was too obvious that the author wanted us to 'deduce' that Doha is the one who's an NPC. It was a red herring to throw us off from the fact that Bada is the actual NPC.

First time reading this and so far Im loving it! Just curious though because I dont want to spoil myself by reading the comments.. Does anyone else find Jeanette annoying?

this is my second time reading it, and yes i really do find her annoying, but i just keep reminding myself she’s a kid, and FL is more mature bc technically she’s an adult, and she just wants to be loved and be with who she thinks is her family. the whole story she’s literally being manipulated left and right, but ur not alone thinking that tho lol

I bet your already completed with the reading but ye evn during when it was ongoing, the HATE on Jeanette was just wow. Everyone tried to understand that she's still a kid but her behaviour all round was just arghh annoying af.
And I bet my username sound familiar bcoz ya ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ I just replied to your comment under my comment a few mins ago ლ(´ڡ`ლ)bcoz I'm back here after completing "blood link" for the 6th time and back to re-read this for the 5th time.ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

THEORY #1: IS DOHA THE ONLY NPC?
What if Doha is the *only* NPC in the game? If you think about it, everyone else has tapes, right? (Bada, YongTaek, Seongchan, Bae Hyungshin) But has anyone seen Doha's tape? It doesn't seem like he's making save points. Although, there’s that one moment when he inserts a tape to make a save, but that was when Bada was walking him through the game’s basics.
Then there’s the thing Doha says about how far he’s willing to go to keep Bada by his side forever. What if Doha is just an npc who *knows* he’s an npc? And because he’s obsessed with Bada, he deliberately did something with Bada’s tape and sabotaged everyone’s gameplay in the process. This could explain why YeongTaek says in Chapter 43 that Doha is a dangerous person who needs to be kept in check, hinting at something he did in the past that caused a lot of problems.
Chapter 43 also gives us some key information about the tapes—apparently, as long as a player's tape is intact, they won’t lose their memories, even if they haven’t saved for a while. The only reason why they would stop "remembering" and behave as npc's is because their tapes are ejected. If that's the case, why did Bada lose his memories? It could be that his tape was destroyed (probably related to what Doha did) so maybe they had to use a fresh tape for him, which would explain why he seems so limited in what he remembers.
THEORY #2: BADA IS TERMINALLY ILL IRL
Another theory is that Bada is ill in the real world (vegetative state maybe?). So, Bada's friends and Doha created a game as a way to keep him alive and present with them. Otherwise, why would Doha be so hung up on him completing the game if they could just be together irl???
SO MY MAIN QUESTIONS ARE:
- What is the game's true purpose?
- How is Bada connected to the game's creator?
- Are Bada and the others real people outside the game? Or are they simply just players/characters in the game that became sentient?
- If Doha is just an npc, is he part of the game's system but has developed emotions or autonomy overtime?
- What's the direction of the plot? Is it scifi (Doha is an AI or something made specifically for the game to challenge players) or is it something spiritual (purgatory as a dream-like state and each character/player represents a deeper meaning in the MC's life)

OMG YES!!! Moritat is one of my favorite reads. It was a roller coaster ride that fcked my brain lmao
I'd also recommend these. They kinda have the same theme of mystery/suspense/psychology

What if it's Doha who's the main player of the game while Bada is just an npc? I know it's been pointed out already, but the amount of control Doha has on the game is kinda weird, like how he's the only one who could kill the killer. Also, remember that bit on chapter 18 where Bae Hyungshin was able to retain his memories because he didn't eject his cassette tape? What if that's what Doha did to Bada? Maybe Doha has Bada's tape and is keeping it somewhere in a cassette player (that cassette player in the latest chapter perhaps?). This would explain why Bada became a sentient npc and thinks he's the main player.
OR if we stick to the Bada-player and Doha-npc theory, maybe it's Doha's tape in that sus casette player? And that's why he's trying to distract Bada away from the player, because he doesn't want Bada to discover the tape inside??? Agghhh the point is either Bada or Doha has their tape inserted in a cassette player somewhere, which could possibly be the reason why either one of them became a conscious npc.

Oh my God why have I never thought about the possibility of Bada being an npc?! He could actually be, he doesn't remember anything afterall so his memories of being into the game could actually be false memories imposed on him that follow a certain plot, or they could be true, and maybe the game continues to reset because there are always new players trying out the game (maybe in Doha's body because he's clearly a different person)? And I always considered it obvious that Doha is a player, but I never considered that he could be the ONLY player in the game while everyone else, Bada included, is an npc. Either he's a player or he's the game master/programmer or something. Or maybe NOBODY is an npc and everybody is real people trapped into the game, and Doha is somebody that was sent into the game to help them (even though he's clearly not interested in finishing the game with Bada)? Idk I'm more and more confused and my theories are getting more and more tangled and ridiculous LMAO

You're theories are good too!! I also want to add (because it just clicked when you talked about reset). The game doesn't restart right after Bada dies. I forgot which chapter it was but there's a part where Doha continued the game even when Bada died. So it can be implied that it's only a game over when Doha dies (this adds to the Doha-player theory) OR when all of the players/npcs die.
Im also curious how the author will transition from the game to the real world. You get what I mean? Lol Im sure the in-game lore is significant (the one about the kid murdering his family).
Hey yall I put together these notes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fyfND0KcEKCLjX-4X9l66b9U6diWfaakpy1NOWcA8mY/edit?usp=sharing
I fully understand the story so if you have questions or if you need clarifications, just drop your questions below. Also if you have suggestions and theories you want to add in the doc, feel free to send them!
Thank you for making a doc, I also had plans but didn't have time for a reread The story is just so good and intriguing XD to think we still don't know everything! I kinda want another plot twist of Bada being a previous player trapped by a glitch in the game just so we can have a possible happy end #-.-)
