I think he was also forced into a political marriage and to him his partner looked like he was out to get whatever he can from him. Which is kind of true bc the adoptive father really only adopted the guy so he can use him like that. Yeah, but I wonder if he really died. They didn't show him dying and they said the body was really mangled. He could've killed someone that looked kinda like him, dressed the corpse up in his clothes, and then messed up the body so no one could tell the difference. That's my theory anyway.
