I didn’t think of the thread as a romantic connection or fate? After the ML’s cousin said that he forcefully cut MC’s string of destiny and tied it to himself, I thought of the string as MC’s future as a famous actor. Since it was cut, MC’s life spiralled downwards with no specific purpose and the ML usurped all the roles that would’ve made him successful.
