I think the whole stepbrother trope in yaoi is common, but this story has a fresh feeling to it. The characters have a desire for each other in various ways, but there's also bitterness there. That's what it feels like to me. Not love, but a bond neither are willing to break.
It looked pretty clear to me that Haesoo is in love with Juwon, that's why he's so bitter, he can't be with him for a reason not shown yet. Weirdly enough, it looks like Juwon feels the same based on how he keeps coming back and how he gets jealous of Haesoo dating. The story implies the love is mutual, but that they've reached a bitter point in their relationship because the two of them just... Aren't dating for some reason. They're living life pining after each other while dating others and that irritates the both of them. I'm assuming there was some kind of misunderstanding in the past that stopped them from dating.
I still don't get how backwards the top is. Threatens to fire his employee if he doesn't have a relationship with him after discovering he wants a sex friend. Bottom actually wants to have consensual sex, but top is bummed that that is all the bottom wants from him (shocking). They don't have any sex only for the top to assault him while he's asleep. Don't get me wrong the current characters are great, but I'm intrigued by the initial characters as well. A sweet seme and spicey uke. I guess you see those type of characters a lot though so the current characters are fine :)
