I never wanted to feel sympathy for Sangwoo, but I also don't like how people are so quick to brush off murder as him being traumatized, like that's some kind of justification.
People are raped and abused every day and they don't go on to murder people because of it, and even if they do that doesn't give them a right to. So much of this story has been about the reader seeing the awful things Sangwoo is capable of, and how much he ENJOYS what he does to women. Even if they're a substitution for his mother, he's still a psychopath and still murdered a lot of people.
This is a really thrilling story but I don't think readers have to brush aside how truly abhorrent Sangwoo is to enjoy his character.
I was a little nervous reading this because it's a western story about a white man and a native american man, as told by a japanese bl mangaka
but it was actually really good! Parts of it were a little cheesy but I think that may just be because of the genre itself...and I wish we had learned more about Toto, not just Fran.
But still if you want something that's a little different but still light hearted I would totally recommend this.
