Pretty sure he’s talking about how far MC wanted to take things with their play. ML wasn’t okay with the violence that MC was truly wanting. Not to mention I’m pretty sure ML was in love with him at the time. That’s why when MC ended up in the hospital, ML looked the way he did and said what he did. MC acted like it was nothing and was happy about it, but ML blamed himself for how far he took it and left.
Are you stupid or you just don't know to read ML "controlling himself" was literally NEVER an issue. MC being selfish, manipulative, and wanting play that was dangerous is how that went.
