Personally, I'd see him as a seme (if there weren't his wife). Even with someone who would only be a seme like Satonaka, I wouldn't imagine the father as a uke.

Yeah, I don't know if it's the translation or if the manga is just completely weird and disjointed, but I find certain individual scenes make sense, but put together it becomes incoherent.
