I'm actually Low-key getting pissed with them main character, like victims could be avoided if he just confessed that he was a scammer at most he would get a fine but if he keeps this up he's going to be an accessory to murder/impeding on investigation
Let's keep in mind though that, without evidence, it would be just the word of a scammer prostitute against the word of a rich, renowned author... So chances are it wouldn't go very well and would just end with Ah-in in jail and Seo Ilmo completely unaffected (since they would likely never even get a search warrant to begin with).
That's why he tried to get some evidence first. Because he realized after calling the police before that they wouldn't take him seriously. With the way the police reacted, it looked like maybe some crazy obsessive fans and weirdos had tried making reports like this previously - maybe because he's a *crime* author of all things on top of being a famous celebrity? Either way, the police didn't take it seriously at all, and he didn't know at the time that there would be another kidnapped person in the killer's home.
Plus, by now, I believe there's also the new problem that even if the police DID actually believe him over a celebrity without any evidence and got a search warrant based on nothing but the report of a criminal prostitute (which still seems unlikely), there'd be the additional problem that he was there as well this time and was forced to leave his DNA on the murder site with the victim's blood, so the way I understood it now he was also scared that *he* would end up being considered the murderer (since he has no evidence to the contrary and nothing but his word to back up his version of the story)...
As daemon said, confessing would probably do nothing. I don't think has anything to do with him being a scammer. He could care less as you can see he just ran in totally forgetting he's suppose to be blind. He can die and he knows that. Every move he makes can end his life and like above said, he already tried and well, they didn't care. He didn't go at first because he tried to get concrete evidence with the glasses cam and as you saw, that failed.
But at the very least if he exposed him and then something happened to him u now have reasonable suspension, also he could tip anonymously
Again, he DID tip anonymously. He already DID TELL the police (see previous chapters!), and they just waved it off - reasoning he's a famous author and people often make stuff like this up, making him realize he would need evidence for anyone to actually believe him.

Nah I've had real life experience with parents walking out and even if the other one is a bit of a asshole you know they're trying and glad they didn't abandon you.
