Honestly if they hadn't like taken the characters and changed their personalities maybe i would dig it more but in the og story daphne hating him and him being a loser simp who chases after her is just a better dynamic. if theyre changing the entire story anyway might as well make it about a dif girl lmfao

To be fair, the MC approached the ML with intentions first. She is very much using him. She has also put him in publicly embarrassing situations like smacking someone to unconsciousness or teaching noble ladies to ride their horses standing up. All this could negatively impact him as her fiance and as the person who brought her. Do you not consider what the MC has done ick? If you haven't, why do you blame the ML for doing similar things?

actually off ur logic he approached her first after his 6 fucking wives died and she approached him after coming back specifically telling him she wanted a mutual beneficial set up. hes now trying not to uphold his end of it with marriage and is just trying to settle on just having the engagement instead of committing to everything she asked for, which would put her in the same scenario she was in the previous timeline where she would too old to marry again.

First off, I apologize if my question came across as rude. I was genuinely ask not trying to be rude. However, I don't think my logic was off. As far as I know, and I could be wrong, the ML never approached the MC. Her father wanted to sell her off much like the fathers of the ML's previous wives/fiances. The previous wives who dead due to politics. The ML's brother, the emperor, wants him to get married, but he, himself, doesn't want to get married. He doesn't want to risk having children who will inherent his curse or other people finding out about his curse. Trouble has come as a result of people not respecting his wishes.

The ML doesn't fully know the MC or her reason for wanting marriage. She is a stranger. He wouldn't realistically change him mind for a stranger. He does need her, and she does need him, so they are using each other. Also, due to their personalities and the fact that this story has comedic moments, they both embarrass each other. In my opinion, the MC and ML have similar actions.

I do believe he was the one who proposed marriage in the previous timeline but I honestly am not sure any longer and i dont wish to reread this at this point lmao the reason i dont touch on how i feel for the fl in my comment is because she doesn't have a consistent personality profile in my opinion, she is treated as a plot device and just does whatever is needed to get to the next arc. she has her issues but overall i wrote her off as a disappointment off of how she has been portrayed.
and if im being honest, the ml isn't that bad you're correct, they both have misgivings and neither of them are being completely honest with each other. the real enemy is the crown prince he disgusted me enough treating his beautiful empress like that that it fully turned me off of this story. the ml and fl just don't bring enough to the table to make it worthwhile to read when the ml doesn't feel consistent enough and the fl is just a shadow of her potential now and doesn't feel like she has any desire or plans to change.

I agree. I hope it doesn't seem like I favor the ML over the MC or vice versa. In my eyes, they appear just about the same. So when I find out someone might favor one over the other, I get curious.

Although I don't like how the emperor treated the empress, I do like how the characters directly say everything happened because of him. Usually the matter get solved, but no one addresses the root cause. He shouldn't have been outside the palace with his pants down.

yeah no youre valid the ml and fl are both bad i was just irritated that all of the men were awful so i snapped but the fl has a lot of issues too.
i genuinely thought the emperor was in a situation where he hadn't even known the woman but they still had to do the whole process just to make sure so when he snapped cus she "cheated" on him i just audibly laughed at the audacity it was truly my breaking point
