Both stories are good but this spin-off has more depth. And I completely understand Kaoru's part. He's anxious not just because of his past relationships but also because he didn't want Hara-san to be sad with his relationship later on. (Even though it clearly shows that Hara-san wants only him) What he did is kind of selfish but come on, the dude has been hurt many times and he loves Hara-san so much that he's willing to give him up just so he could be with his fated partner, forget about Kaoru, and be happy later on. I don't get why some people are hating on the precious boy.
