it's called polynesian sex, and i think it was noted when they started it in the volume, but i might be remembering a comment rather than a translator note. i don't know for sure what the origin of the concept is though, or if it even has much of anything to do with polynesian culture either. it most certainly could, but it could also be built off a lot of stereotypes and preconceived notions based on outside viewpoints of the culture too. i'm sure someone knows much better; the little i can get from quick cursory searches aren't too helpful in answering XP
