It's not that he's finally realized he wants her, no. He has realized the attention she gave him would be gone. It's a ego thing. She's someone who yearns for his affection and that made him feel confident but now that's gone and he's selfish enough to lead her on. He actually hates her guts because of you love someone, even as a friend then you would let them be happy.
Everyone seems upset at the plot taking a drastic turn and I wanna say that it seems like two different stories. One with angst and revenge, the other with a fluffy love story that didn't resolve her being killed numerous times by the ML. I don't mind them getting together but there should be something that's resolved about that first.
A lot to unpack. So ML killed her baby baby by that look on his face. Then you got the king wanting to get her back and didn't give a fuck about his own baby or wife's well-being. I'm with the FL. The woman was shitty but didn't deserve her baby to be killed. She was fighting for the throne and yes it was messy but she ain't deserve that.
It doesn't entirely looks like the ML killed the baby more likely the stress the empress had did.
I mean she was extremely scared to get caught and she knew ML was really dangerous. And from the smiles she got from the ML she looked like she kinda understood the ML knew she was behind the hunting incident. And with the maid who got the ring, the empress reaction looks like everything would be discovered if the couple continue the conversation with the maid. And the empress realising that was like the final hit she needed to break and for the stress to be to much on the baby
Why yet again is this the troupe of "I raised you and now imma fuck you"? Like these authors are very weird for that. The stories in itself be decent but then the backstory of the having raised their now current love interest is gross AF.
Knowing her since a child and then when they're grown and fucking them... Still in the same realm. He and she spent quality time together until he dropped her off. So much so that she developed feelings from him and had flashback memories of the different things they did when she was a CHILD. So it's the "I raised you and now imma fuck you" troupe.
I can see why it's adjacent to that trope, but I don't think it's as bad as the way you're framing it. He didn't plan on ever seeing her again, since he thought that she would hate him for being a mage due to being in the temple for so long. He never indicated to her that she should become a sharing when she gets older, so it's not like he groomed her.
It would be weird if he specifically brought her into the tower to become a sharing, but that's not what happened. They separated for years and then she pursued him as an adult woman, which I don't see anything wrong with.
I will say, I would have liked more development between them since their relationship is basically a lust=love situation, on account of poor writing from the author. You're right in saying that the way he immediately became attracted to her is odd, but I think that's more so related to the fact that there was no relationship growth to establish that change. If there was more time where he got to know the adult her and fall in love, then I think that would really benefit the relationship overall.

I was hoping to discuss positively about the story but it seems everyone hates it in the comments. Lol
I get u. I thought everyone liked this story but then when i read the comments... so many people hating on this we are in enemy territory..
Right! The only thing I'll say is that I found it stressful that the characters were constantly in a dilemma. That's all I wanted to say but he's, surprised me that it's hated.
