I personally think it would good for her to live alone. I mean all this time she was/had to be dependent on her no-good-husband. Then she had to live in fear. It would be good for both to live separately and grow a healthy dependence/boundaries on each other.
I'm going to be honest, the vampire analogy did not help me understand lol. Just say you wanted a psychotic character to stay psychotic. Cause the happier (ish) ending would have been Dajeong slowly improving while the Boss has to live with losing Dajeong. But after the car accident it went left again (－.－)
