He got his naivety from his mom
It literally came out of nowhere but that’s so real
And his lack of school smarts too
I KNOW AND ITS A BAD THINGGG
isn’t his mom smart with math?
Being good at one subject only is lack of school smarts
Yes. He passed the GED (which may be easy for those who had proper education with little gap years, but not with someone who dropped out and struggled for years) pretty nicely, and is smart in math.
If being good in all subjects mean school smarts, America is doomed. Plus we haven’t really seen if Hyesung did other classes besides math (not that I remember), so it’s unfair to judge.
No not all subjects but you should be good in atleast half, and if I recall correctly he barely passed multiple classes.
Which chapter of the main story?
58 page 4 it says barely managed to pass and they kind of reiterate when he actually starts his first day of college because he couldn't get into too many
Thank you and I guess that’s expected with how he’s brought up.
You're welcome and Absolutely. I was someone wgo struggled in school myself. I was never at academic level which is university level but applied level which is college level. I personally have a creative mind then academics. It took me all of high school to get onto the honor roll. And funny enough I was pretty decent at math until problem solving was involved. Lol. So his character really sang to me
Yeah, same here. I’m not good at math even though I’ve attended school, I learned I process info slowly with numbers and stuff like math, plus my teachers weren’t even good at teaching me (and were impatient). I’ve gotten honor roll a few times but not consistently.
I struggle with the word problems in math.
My social studies teach explained it best of how problem solving sounds to me, "if two trains are going 5 mile pee hour how many cookies do you eat before you crash". I have never felt so seen in my life then in that moment
Pee hour, got it lmao. Glad you felt seen in the moment, I understand that feeling. And honestly, I didn’t learn better until I got into college. My professor in biology is my favorite, she explained all the body system so well, visually was the best and she spoke clearly. As for my Psychology teacher, she was quite old so I could see why she struggled to remember her own notes she had us review, one time she called me out for apparently having the wrong answer (but it was right).
Hearing my biology professor, that’s when I thought: Huh, maybe my middle and high school teachers just sucked or didn’t explain concisely and clearly.
