i'm not entirely sure either because i am stupid but here's what i think it is: she doesn't want to be seen as a "girl" because of objectification, even if being a girl is inevitably part of her identity, i think she feels she cannot escape the label of being a girl in the eyes of a male. as for the boy's uniform she wore it for akira's sake and stopped wearing it when she realized she does everything for validation from akira, but then she started wearing it again after she felt uncomfortable from the compliments about her. maybe i'm just dumb but i personally think the author could have explained this part a little more clear

lowkey angst just ain’t for me,,, to be fair i got about half way through and skipped ahead a bit to see if the drama was gonna die down. even tho the sex was consensual it still felt forced in the like first quarter of the manga and also there’s a rape scene which i just didn’t think was necessary. lowkey the parts i read felt like bj alex but w/o much of the cute relationship part that bc alex had towards the end. Feels more like where Jinx is at rn (which i also dropped)
U can go for it and see how u feel. I liked it enough. It's mostly angst. Some SA. Art is rly nice though and the storyline does wrap up maturely(?). I did skip read a lot tho.
