I need to re-read this one, but as I remember both tops have regrets but the 2nd top (not ML) is the one who really ends up groveling and pathetic. He treated the MC like absolute dog shit, all trigger warnings for all the abuse, but ends up alone with on drugs without MC.

The seme from this is who I picture when I think of this trope done how I like, goes from obsessive abusive jerk to having a panic attack imagining his life without the MC. Definitely not for the faint of heart in the beginning, dudes a red flag but thats why the grovel hits so good!!!
One thing I really appreciate about this story is that it shows a behavior that is sometimes depicted as very romantic (I don't want you to have anyone but me!) and displays it as the controlling ego-centered and abusive behavior it actually is in a lot of situations.
This top is just as mentally ill as Woojin, its just expressed differently. Woojin can't stand (his perception) of being alone, and this top can't stand (his perception) of being out of control/abandoned.
Both of them of them meeting and making each other worse is good character writing and a good understanding of the pitfalls of unresolved mental health issues. And I wasn't expecting that out of this story at first tbh!

I'm a big fan of the "watch me be happy without you revenge" sometimes. As long as it ruins the dudes life. There was one BL where the delusional asshole who thought they'd get to keep the MC around became a junkie after watching MC leave with the ML. That was very satisfactory.
