Damn I'm torn. Terriod needs to accept that she can't just willy nilly forget about her past and it's possible to love 2 people (especially if 1 is already dead, that's why some widows remarry). And Astena should realize already that she does loves Terriod but that it's possible to also honor & love the memory of Theodore.
It's impossible to just forget about her first love especially since it wasn't just simple love. They had a deep history, went through life and death, etc... of course she can't forget about her past, she IS from the past.
I wonder if she will have a prolonged lifespan like his (but not the full extent of course) since she has part of his dragon heart now.

Only Carcel meets him. The lesson from the next chapter will show another reason why it’s good that Ines never went near the artist. However, there are many other reasons why it makes a lot of sense why they never meet. From the beginning of the novel, Ines was determined never to meet him again also. This story is very complicated so there is never just one reason why things happen the way they do.
