I had not read the novel, but I remember they described her as a quite normal girl also at the beginning of the manga version, not as a stunning beauty as they've been doing lastly. It's a little bit bothering: as if her personality wasn't enough to deserve her husband's love and other people's appreciation, and as if she needed to be perfect from every possible point of view and for every person she meets.

that's true. i hadn't even read the novel but when i read the part that described her as, "her figure is so dainty that she could fit perfectly into a man's arms", i knew there's something so wrong. likEE that's a crazy statement to make about a woman's "beauty". it's so male gaze

I think it's bc of the smut + length of the manhwa. Like they lost or just forgot about her character and went with default smut objification.

Yes, likely that's the reason, but I can't help to feel annoyed. I mean, I'm not a writer and I can't imagine how difficult could be to elaborate such a long work, but the main characters' main characteristics shouldn't change throughout it

Yup. I think the way bov handled the SA in the "redemption arc" was really well executed and it feels realistic and healthy (..well as healthy as it can be given the circumstances). Taka not diminishing the things he did and not trying to excuse what he did is very nice to see.
