Honestly, the main characters feel so human. I grew up struggling with my sexuality too, and the path to understanding that wasn't so pleasant, just like Mii-kun went thru (not saying I had same encounters) but I could symphathize with him seeking comfort to the nearest queer. Not defending Shizumu tho, he sould've known better.
