The cemetery scene really did me in though. I have tried to talk SO many gay friends out of closeting their orientation, it's heartbreaking. Times have changed from when I was in my teens and twenties. Now, there is little need to closet yourself if you're homosexual, but "back in my day" (LOL wow, I really sound old) it was as common as cat shit in a litterbox. Gays and lesbians had almost no rights. All they had was that they couldn't be fired for being homosexual, but they could still be bullied out of a job or even their home with little recourse for them. Gay men and women were targeted for violence then too. I understood my friends' fears and I feared for them as well, but I still never felt it was fair to anyone - my friends, the women they married, the children the bore, the lovers they left behind or the one night stands they left in the wake of their self-loathing sex sessions - to hide who they really were inside. It only creates misery on top of more misery. Just like it did in this manga. Do you really think that the wife was happy to hear her husband's dying words? So, why lie from the start? I'm glad that things have changed from "back in my day". I only wish it could continue to spread throughout the globe and allow everyone to be free to love whom they choose.

That scene hit me so hard in the feels ugh I was crying like a baby. I use love when they do those little flashbacks for one of the characters, especially when it’s a major turning point in that characters life and you learn why they are the way they are. Daisuke is the real perfect boyfriend goals to me tbh
