I think half the reason people are mad at Winter is not that he immediately assumed that she cheated on him but rather he did not even bother to TALK to her about his side of the family and the issues regarding conceiving. And it's not just this instance, but every time something happens (or doesn't happen) he decides not to TALK TO HER, rather choosing to listen to words from other people's mouth. That right there is the main reason why I don't think I will ever come to like him. He needs more character development, I can see Violet's development, not so much his.
no, we're mad because he exhibits negligent and rude and invasive behaviours, all while acting like he knows everything (see the chap where he acts like he knows she hates large crowds even though she likes them) and how he forcibly PHYSICALLY moves her around, as if shes a toy. its not a lack of communication we're most infuriated by, but by his borderline cruel actions towards her. (the cheating part is also another thing, but its not even the tip of the iceberg. hes unfit to be a husband and acts like a child when it doesnt get what it wants)
