I'm lost. Why is she mad at him for not breaking out of jail but not the teammate that put him in jail....? Wouldn't breaking out of jail make matters worse for him and the group?

Don't think she was mad about him not breaking out of jail, but more like when you pent up what you want to say, then something happens and you just lash it all out?
I'd say she was frustrated over the fact that he was kinda "Getting used and slowing down his growth" when he started with such disposition. So, I'd say the author used him being jailed as an excuse for her to let out her pent up stress.
The problem wasn't breaking out, the problem from what I understood was that he was getting kinda "lazy" and she used the jail as an excuse, if it is to simplify.

I not saying everything she did was right but the situation is kinda messed up. All her life she believed she was the only child. Everyone around her praised her and worshipped her as the next queen. She was prepared to be the next queen. But then out of nowhere here comes an 11 year child that was raised as commoner and took her throne from her. Bringing along his peasant sister. Adding more wood to the fire that peasant sister of the bastard king took the man of my dreams from her. Of course she is mad. She has every right to be mad. I don't think she handled the situation well but I understand why.
I believe this is why she had the young king and the sister killed in the original story. Everyone in the palace is on her side so why not make the young king a puppet. Raise him as tyrant so you can be held as a saint when he dies.

The world doesn't revolve around her. They're not obliged to be her pawns for her to step on. She has all sorts of privileges and she knows it, yet, she treats others in an unkind way? You treat people the way you want to be treated and there, she definitely gets what's coming for her. She's not a heroine. She's not important. She's just a normal human being who got lucky to be born into royalty. Just because she's royal, she's entitled to do anything? What she did was immoral and I cannot support her. Therefore refuse to sympathise a malicious person like that. She used an innocent child who never asked to be royal and ruined his life by manipulating him to be a tyrant. Any red flags here? Can u pity her for that? She has power and has everything she wanted yet these 2 don't. Heck she can easily kill them because she's that powerful! But no, she has a plan which is to have an image of a saint. So she will kill them but it will take time. She implicitly bullies her step-sister where she could just ignore her? There are different ways to approach this but she took the malicious path.
Eventhough he's a king, he's also a child so he's bound to be taken advantage of like a tool. I pity those 2 the most. They never asked for this, heck, they probably just wanted to live a normal life without their jealous relatives wanting to kill them.
All i can say, I disagree with you but you have the rights to sympathise with them and I am just stating my opinions on why I don't. I understand your reasoning but I cannot agree with it. I just hate manipulators the most as I had been taken advantage of in the past. Therefore, why I hate this person like Edith who has authority that prevents you from fighting back.
Anyways, this is a life and death situation for Alicia, she's gaining power in order for her and her brother to survive and not fall in the evil hands of Edith's people. I'm rooting for them!!

In what world did he think that was ok ....that it could just fly under the radar unnoticed? That honestly makes no sense that he planned to attack him in that space and time.

honestly he probably thinks his friends are the type to not care or even the type to applaud him for his rapey actions... which kinda checks out as theyre described as thugs/troublemakers etc. he also wouldve thought that choi suoh wasnt a threat because he announced that he and hangyeol were no longer friends. its definitely not the cleanest writing but his motivations make some sense

I hope the dads story gets translated soon

You told her not to fall in love with you. She's just doing a great job keeping her end of the bargain.
