Did you read it? Diesel's situation was sad, his life was NOT easy. I mean he was tortured and raped over and over for who know how long, that was sad it made me sad at least.
Honestly, this story is best when you don't know what is coming .... It's an amazing read because this story takes you in a direction you don't expect .... But Lol I guess I spoiled it..... A bit

I have no idea why exactly I reacted so strongly that's part of the reason I didn't explain more that my feelings of rage, But if I needed to list a few, this had lot of Fuckery between the 3 Kingdoms, the Crown Prince's whole thing was just gross and a little too sister-wife.
Jed and Nicole was literally Brother-sister wife, the gender bender thing with the Forrest people was so odd. Seemed like just grown into the story for Drama's sake.
It's not ok to basically kidnap and rape that is NOT love it never will be... Ending I hated Especially the garbage with the king, I mean what an unbelievable AssHole. It was everything and the kitchen sink, leave no cliche unturned.

The whole manga is basically looking at the dark, twisted side of love. Nicol's family are the only characters who have anything close to romantic love in this.
Derek (the crown prince) was an evil character. He raped and enslaved a very young boy. The relation between him and Shahi was more complicated that 'love', it was more like Stockholm Syndrome and obsession. Derek loved Shahi obsessively. His love was incredibly twisted and cruel.
I don't know about Nicol and Jed's love being sister-wife. That term to me refers to polygamy and I don't think that's what you mean. I think you mean they're too much like family right?
Jed said 'this is for a lover, this is for a little sister, this is for a little brother - you're a combination of all three.' and then 'you decide what kind of man you want to be'. They had to marry for political reasons and like all arranged marriages it's going to have an unusual relationship with love. But he was leaving it up to Nicol what kind of relationship they ended up with. Nicol is very young. Love between lovers is beyond him at this point. So their relationship ends up at this halfway point.
