just came back from reading the raws, and boooooy am I mad
like not even pissed off, I'm actually mad, even if it's "just a manga". I seriously hate mentalities like "if they won't love me then hating me is good too", "if I can't have their heart I'll at least take their body", and "If I can't have them I'll ruin them so no one else can", and anything like that. I really hate them.
I get that not all love is nice and fluffy, I get it, and while these kinds of relationships are interesting and intriguing to read about, they also just make me so upset. Yeah not everything needs to be hearts and roses, and there are different ways of loving and showing that love, but like seriously? Last time I checked, ruining your love interest's life and making them suffer isn't the way to go around it. And personally I'm not so sure what Hikaru feels for Haruki is love, but more of a sick obsession/maybe imprinting (feel free to disagree as I'm sure people will) resulting partly from his own experiences. There's a fine line between attachment and love, and I think what we see in this manga is the former.
Note: while I'm mad about what I see in the manga, I do think the mangaka does a really good job with this work, making it complex and twisted and (at least in my opinion) reflective of reality
