Personnally i think it's quite helpful if they want to build a future together, to take a little time out of the everyday hussle and be able to reflect together with him, while letting him to his pace and his own space. I thought it was a good idea, especially since the MC already had a lot of time on his own there in that island ? How many weeks has it been already ? He's supposed to come back to civilisation at some point (earn money and stuff to pay rent and all ... ) right now he lived in his little bubble , and they want to show him they can be there for him without being intrusive , i believe that's how trust is built, with experience of coexistence
