Im pretty sure that after breaking up with Yul in the last episode he's just giving him away. He felt guilty for trapping in this life he doesn't want and giving Chan the piano was he's way of letting him go.
I just feel he doesn't think he's going to be interested in him, and he likes it. He didn't leave until he made sure of that fact. Why does he care either way, and why if he was going to break up with him was it any of his business? I am sure some people won't agree with me on this point. lol I'm okay with that.
The comic portrayed In Suh as mature but deeply troubled, and someone who finally accepted he was holding Yool back and that he used to love him, but didn't anymore. I do think he told him "that kid likes you" because as he himself said, he's slow in catching on to someone else's feelings so Suh wanted him to notice. They got over each other so long ago they didn't even do that cliched "last kiss" scene.
Ego doesn't disappear when you break up with someone especially for someone who is like In Suh. His ego is holding onto the fact someone of Yool's caliber would not be interested in someone like Chan.
Now, of course, this is my opinion, but I have been around a lot of In Suh types because I was involved in music (and law too just like Yool) for quite a while myself, and that ego will remain together or apart, and that ego can't see his Yool choosing someone such as Chan who is the complete opposite of them.
I don't think he has any sincerity towards Chan hence calling him "kid" constantly before he left town. He sees him as a child, a non-entity, and that makes him secure enough to let go of Yool for now.
That’s completely disregarding how Insuh admitted that if Yechan asked, Seonyool would probably play music for him. Knowing how this arc was set up and how Insuh and Seonyool just acknowledged how they weren’t healthy for each other and that they had a mutual break up, I think it’s definitely more that Insuh is letting Seonyool go for good because he knows he and Seonyool aren’t good enough for each other and Yechan is best for Seonyool.
Recall in earlier episodes that the author made various references to the fact that Insuh and Seonyool both felt like they were “drowning,” but they were too busy focusing on themselves they never reached out to the other. And that when they finally break up, they address their lack of communication and understanding as one of the reasons why their relationship failed. I think that this level of maturity does not line up with the idea that Insuh is condescending Yechan in this chapter. Yes, I understand past experiences with egocentric types have made you hyperaware (and that before his development in this arc, Insuh was one of those) but I think he is now much more mature and above that. Frankly, I much prefer this direction than the overdone and melodramatic “oh the ex is actually a spiteful person with no depth beyond being a strawman antagonist” direction

...with him leaving her years ago. It's definitely hidden below the surface with her because he said they would keep in touch and didn't, so now she's unable to commit fully. That's just how I see it, and so I kind of understand that mindset.
