I'm very conflicted about this latest chapter, it didn't went further than a kiss right?
Reading the other comments, I'm interested in the portrayal of the characters now bcz I think of Matthias as a man-child who is finally exploring the world after being cooped up at home by his mother. And it's boring to have everything decided for you, but I think he wants to break that barrier and do what interests him which is so far ... A journey
Since 'black' is the common thing in 'blackdog' and 'blackhood' it's obviously going to be in the name, but it can't relate to their powers because that'll give them away... Blackoracle for Sei? She seems like she's talk about informations during fights to help her team, and Blackjack for the guy because I totally feel like he'd try to make himself look jacked
Exclude the novel readers, what do y'all think will lead to Sion being fawned over Lila in the oneshot chapter?
I think it's a sneak peak in the future when fl has to decide whether to marry that slave hater, and it's difficult for her to reject the proposal bc of his family's influence. Sion was about 10 years old? when slave hater made the proposal and 5 years later (aka when slave hater expects fl's response) sion wouldn't have awakened his powers yet so he has no influence. I also imagine that panel in the oneshot is when fl learns of his feelings maybe? bc I think I remember her blushing a little. This is just my theory based off the current chapters so far bc I don't have much
Yeah he's strong but his powers hasn't awaken, he has strength but not "influence". He would be just a strong knight but that's it, a commoner knight wouldn't be able to stand against a noble family that has close ties with the cherished empress. Actually I'm not sure if escort is even the same as a knight? since he never went through knightage
Ok, this one is kind of a dark theory, but I was thinking that Lila may die again (or even multiple times) in front of Sion. This would traumatize him even more seeing her die when he just started realizing his feelings for her and gaining his humanity back. Hence, that one panel in the oneshot where he tells her not to die. Obviously I would still hate too see him go through this and for my girl to die again but with the way the story was going and how dark it was in the beginning I wouldn’t be suprised if it went this route! Especially because I get the feeling she’s gonna die again, which spooks me (the freaking timeline at the end always makes me feel like she’s gonna die). But, again, just a theory.
That actually make sense! I mean, how else could the plot make Sion cry for her like that? I've got to say, this would become one of my fav if it includes that angst lol. But after reading your theory, I wonder how much is the limit :v cuz she can't just keep going back in time everytime she dies, what if she successfully becomes 90yo but then regresses back to a horrid time in her life. I'm guessing the limit is 10 times
There's a wide range of 'twisted villains' in disney that causes a major turmoil for the plot to have a plot twist.
From what I understand (and remember) Elzay got reincarnated into a novel she read. There's 2 books on it, but she has only ever read the first book that consists of Aseph's past and how he lost to the prince that caused him to adopt the dark side. And that Elzay was never a character in the novel she read.
However, in the unexpected unraveling twist in around chapter 80 (Aseph fights demon guy), apparently Elzay did exist in the novel??
My theory is that they have been repeating lives, but Elzay is the center. So whenever she gets thrown back into the novel world, it'll re-do the sequence of their "first life" agenda, suggesting they've been redoing this life for many times.
-Now my theory is that Elzay has always loved Aseph, but he doesn't always reciprocate that feeling. Maybe because she never resonates with him. So to make Elzay be more sympathetic and charismatic towards Aseph, the god of the novel world makes sure Elzay knows about the backstory ALL THE WHILE removing any memories she has when she reincarnates out of the book? It seems very twisted.
I'll rate this a 4/10
1. I kinda liked the relationship buildup, where Aseph wants to fool Elzay but ends up falling for her, though I wish they could've expanded on it more because I don't get why he'd fall for her.
—an approach that I liked is the ML and FL from Dr Elise, Elise had something to prove to ML to make him change his perspective about her.
2. The climax is underwhelming.
— severe lack of POV from the duke and the demon, there's not enough reason for them to team up against the leads
— the demon is pathetic for a villain. His main goal or purpose is to make people blessed with the god's partner thing to suffer like...did u not get one? Is bro lonely? Is that why bro makes couples suffer? Lonely ahh
— from Elzay's perspectives and opinion about the novel she read, it seems like Aseph and the prince would have nothing to do with each other. I find it hard to believe they're friends.
3. I do like some of the plot twist
— Elzay mentions that the duke (her father) was the one in charge of the death of Aseph's parents (or in this case, Elisa's father ; because Elzay isn't in the novel she read), and this is one of the reasons that made Aseph hate Elisa in the novel. However, in this version, her father the duke was sent to retrieve Aseph's mother, but his mother wanted the duke to set the house on fire (this is my understanding of the situation).
— The duke didn't know Aseph's mother, he just thought she looked awful lot like his late wife (I think is the prince's mother).
— That there COULD be different storylines. MAYBE the 'god' or author, or whoever that controls the world, manipulates the world. Though I think this part is poorly written.
4. Romance, where?
— Elisa and the prince's relationship was just, out of the blue. At least Aseph and Elzay had a build up.
5. The crest
— in the end, Aseph is rewarded the same crest given to Elzay. However, does that mean Elzay was fated to never have a fated partner if Aseph went to the dark side? Does that mean Elzay x Death was canon if Aseph didn't love her enough to sacrifice himself against the bad guy?
6. Poor horse. For that I give -1

She's already skeptical about his sudden INTRUSION and motives for being there, literally out of everywhere else in the world, but of course she probably can't contain herself if the blood she yearned for years is finally in front of her. However, once she does take a sip, this will just lead to a whirlwind of disaster and he has absolutely no respect for her. He wanted to kill her spirits (by killing her babies) and she didn't consent to it.
It infuriates me how he confuses love and lust. If he can't possibly give her time to adapt to his sudden appearance, then he shouldn't even be in there. But yay plot I guess
On a completely unrelated note, smu smu next chapter?
