I wonder if the original Daphne got possessed by a demon/evil entity? The characters seemed to mention something like that with the scene in ch 21 (of an entity disappearing) and it do be sus how Daphne was drenched right in the middle of the temple, and how she seemed to react to the future ex-fiance.
Do you mean that the current Daphne (MC) is doing that? I'm too lazy to go back and reread from the beginning, but from my understanding the previous/og Daphne was known for creating poisons, no? I've been reading so many new stories lately that I can't remember if it was this one where the og villainess MC possessed wanted to become saint for approval or not ( ̄∇ ̄") either way you can't deny that this whole scene of the past seen in ch 21 is sus.
Old Daphne was only rumoured but she was so terrible at herbalism that she couldn't grow basic plants. She was blamed for poisoning the queen or something but she didn't do it and then she was accused of poisoning herself but we know that poison was purchased off of the assassin's guild by a high ranking person. She desperately wanted to become a saint for approval but never did! They never recognised her as such which is why I suspect the temple of being corrupt. I wonder who saved her from drowning though since it wasn't that boy who lied and she became obsessed with.
Anyways new Daphne can definitely make poison now and really good medicine and it works well on the prince dude's pain caused by his magic disease. But he specifically says she has no magic and it's mentioned her mother has no magic as well and lived empty headed or something. I think they have holy powers in the family that potentially make plants grow really well or something.
It could be just new Daphne though... Since old Daphne couldn't grow plants and new Daphne grows difficult plants easily but old Daphne was doing everything wrong so it's sort of implied she might have been able to had she researched anything properly.
Thanks for the reminder + everything else
Yeah, I guess we just have no choice but to wait and see ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ it also could be that the evil entity mentioned just tagged along elsewhere or near og Daphne which might've influenced her (idk, I just find it really suspicious that after she had somehow found drenched in the temple, an evil entity had also escaped confinement and it was the start of Daphne's obsession to the ex-fiance). But yeah! I'm sure her lack of magic plays a part.
I'm not a fan that his majesty got jealous so early on. I would hope it's some other jealousy than the romantic kind, but knowing these series, it rarely is - at least when we know they're likely going to end up together at some point.
Yes, she is 18, but the characters constantly call her a child. She definitely looks like one, and she is also very naive in many ways (but then again, she is also smart and quick to catch on). This can work if we see her act more like her age and see her personality/capabilities come through, and only then would I be okay with the Emperor falling for her (because he would be falling for her mind and personality, not her physical appearance). It would be really fucking weird if he fell for he/did anything to her right now, as the manhwa also keeps constantly reminding us. I hope her growth was stunted by magic or something (or just mistreatment) and she gets to grow to look at least a bit older from now on.
(I know short women can be looked down upon and infantalised just because they look young due to their height/overall appearance, which is why I don't want to say "hell no" to this immediately. As long as we see her act her age and gain knowledge of the world before any actual romance happens, I'm good - rn the issue is that due to her meek nature and lack of general experiences, she can appear almost child-like sometimes, and that hits things way too close for my tastes.)
I'm trying to keep good faith and hope this is good, partly because I was so pleasantly surprised to see the Salvator family not be asses to her, especially the daughter she replaced. They didn't mistreat her and she even accepted her as a sister and genuinely cares for her - I loved that. The count didn't give me worst vibes either, it's likely he just wants to protect his own daughter. This replacement trope is common, but it is rare to se the MC treated kindly by the family. I wish we had seen more of them before she was sent to the palace, and I hope this isn't the end of things. I hope the sisters get to reunite and continue to have a good relationship.
I googled the korean name and couldn't find free raws anywhere but I did see this has 40+ chapters rn. Please someone pick this up, if you can handle typesetting and translating + getting the raws (idk how to do that tbh) I'll gladly do the cleaning/redrawing I just want more of this (and preferrably with better translation) please if anyone is up fof this hmu in the DMs I'm being 100% serious about this
"Blessed Saint Marianne, why would you bless Mayer Knox with every possible gift... except for the ability to read his own heart?"
I had to pause reading the chapter because of how much I started laughing at Father August's thoughts honestly he's so valid in giving up, both of them are dense and oblivious in their own ridiculous ways - sometimes you just have to choose your battles lmao.
I don't care if the pacing appears slow, I've read someone say it is faithfully adapting from the novel and that is always good to hear (even if they're not a fan of the pacing of the manhwa), I genuinely love these characters and always so excited when a new chapter comes out. MC and ML may be typical leads in some sense, but in others they're also unique on their own. I personally really enjoy their dynamic and can't wait to see where things go, even if it takes time ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
I love that there is no cold/uncaring/extremely tsundere crown prince/royal family here, or at least it only appeared so in the beginning before they got to spend time even a little bit and were still suspicious. Like, yes, MC is the white mage and the crown princess and is important because of that - but they all quickly started caring for her genuinely as a person and a family member (although this is still a work in progress, of course). The crown prince is attracted to her physically for sure, but that's not the reason why he treats her like he does - even before that whole blushing scene, at the dinner table, they rightly include her and make her feel welcome. Again, they genuinely do care for her as a person.
Ik this should be the bare minimum, but after so many cold MLs who had to be thawed out this is just. Really nice.
And that he honestly shows his care for her! The whole family just warms my heart in so many ways.
I can't help but to find the shocked complainers funny. "Why is this necessary" "this is cliche (implying it's dumb)" okay, and? It's the story the author wrote. It's a twist and I think it's a fun one, it's definitely more unique even if it uses the third life trope (and in my personal opinion, I believe her first life was her korean one, not the second one).
Okay, I guess you can be shocked if you consume a lot of these stories and forget the details. Maybe I'm able to enjoy myself more because while I haven't read the og work, I got to read spoilers from a comment section literal years ago, and have been just chilling and waiting for the revelation for the characters. I think, if you're confused, you should try rereading the series. I think you'll find a bunch of things that didn't make sense/were a bit odd, that this reveal explains ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ I know for me it was enjoyable to read while knowing the truth, similarly as to how Luca is also a regressor.
I know I had the advantage of knowing this in advance but man I still find it funny how it seems like some people never anticipated this? I think the series gave plenty of hints that our Judith is the og Judith, but I guess some of it could be guessed to be something like 'memories from og judith's body", but still. Sorry for laughing, don't take any personal offense ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Well I definitely wasn't expecting that!! I thought she was just going to caress his cheek and apologise for when she had slapped him, NOT GO FOR A KISS Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
I feel so bad for Kylo for the confusion that is going to bring. Too soon girlie, too soon.
(Never mind that it's noncon, not really a fan of that either)
What an annoying person, but thankfully not as a character (other than feeling frustrated for Rubetria, we know she's going to get it in the way and her being an obstacle first still makes sense, so it doesn't feel like she's just there for the sake of being annoying). The eldest brother sooooo clearly favors the twins over Rubetria, tbh we did learn the reason chapter and two back, but it's still ridiculous. There's no way he never saw or heard about Rubetria's bullying and abuse she experienced - there must've been something he just turned a blind eye to, rather believing that the people he thought were good were actually good.
I'm so glad the second brother is there with Rubetria, and is just as baffled/flabbergasted at Lilia's guts and how she played the situation. He really does seem the best of them all. Of course, do a degree he did also participate in her abuse (neglect), and he should've kept in contact/checked up on her more often, or at least write letters. At the very least he wasn't specifically neglecting/ignoring Rubetria, but the whole family in general. The father has no excuse because he is still a father, and should've thought about his kids more than himself. The eldest brother neither - it barely seems like he cares about Rubetria, from what we've seen so far. At the least he thinks Rubetria has it all, so he doesn't seem to even think about her, thinking she must be fine. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
I actually teared up while I was binging this from chapter 1 to 22. It feels so... satisfying? Comforting? Vindicating? To see Rubetria show her hurt feelings and the truth of her abuse, and seeing her abusers (yes again the bio family counts, they might have their own circumstances but neglect is still a form of abuse) wake up and realise what has been going on. Seeing them regret things. I couldn't articulate myself to do the same. Or well, I guess I just know that they wouldn't feel the guilt even if I was being honest, and would instead turn the blame back onto me.
So it's really nice for me personally to see abuse victims make their abusers realise their wrongs in a way that makes them feel guilty and regret their actions. Before, my favourite for this was Penelope from Villains Are Destined To Die, and Rubetria definitely comes up there, even from only these 22 chapters we've gotten so far.

Next chapter seems to be the final part in this anthology, going by the number of authors listed and chapters posted wahh this has been so good, I want more out of all of these!! Praying some of the authors get inspired to di more for these oneshots
