Unfortunately no,,despite how much he’s scarred Maxi and her journey to gain self confidence and autonomy. Riftan hasn’t pieced it together nor wanted to learn more behind her behaviors and scared responses to when he intimidates her. I wish by now he’d have interest but he’s focused elsewhere.

Fr, on one hand, don’t give abusers even more attention or affect your life. But on the other I NEED Maxi’s father’s comeuppance. I’d even settle for a half page of a flashback of the father’s murder and another page where Maxi lets it all spill to riftan after hearing the news. I bet even if they did this as a the bare minimum riftan would be horrified for a whole chapter, plan revenge against her family,,probably take until season 7 with the pacing we got, treat maxi gentler at which she’ll refuse because “she’s getting better” and “you already treat me so kindly already”
I think, grammatical flow wise this would have sounded better: "The living shall prepare for death. I am your destruction" or "The living shall prepare for the afterlife. I am your death." Give it Smug vibes

It's sus but like i don't this she wanted to blame her childhood friend, i just think she naively thought that blond guys was trying to help explain things in as few words as possible. But it also shows she's instinctively uncomfortable around him, she just doesn't know why yet.
