I’m worried about ‘hikaru’ I’ve actually grown fond to him I’m wondering if him being able to feel pain and him being weaker is maybe a side affect of him starting to “gain humanity” in a sense I get he still doesn’t understand the value of life but his attachment to yoshiki could bridge that gap idk but I also think the real hikaru’s soul will become an impurity if he hasn’t already

I really hope this doesn’t end up going down the “time skip” route like with jaeyoung likely moving away I just really hope they don’t “break up” dramatically and run into eachother years later and then just start dating or anything like that bc that’s such a cop out to me and I really like this story so I hope it doesn’t end up that way

Just realized this kinda reminds me of the game dead by daylight idk why I didn’t make this connection before the titles are kinda similar too lol “dreadful night” I wonder if this was maybe inspired by it…anyways DBD is a multiplayer online game and you can play as either the “killer” or the “survivor” so it’d be interesting if in this they could switch roles (killer/survivor) once they’re all self aware, now I’m starting to feel like they are actually game characters just gaining consciousness, or they are real and maybe stuck playing in like VR or something idk and I swear every new chapter I’m believing a different theory but it’s just so fun lol
Spoiler warning for the manga and live action Alice in borderland below
if anyone has watched/read Alice in borderland I feel like this could also play out in a similar manner like the whole joint-coma situation and like none of this is even real the possibilities are endless lol

I really do like jahan’s character and I can empathize with his situation but I’m a bit suspicious now, he knew hawon’s stepmother came to find him years ago and lied to her sending her away which makes sense when you realize he and hawon have an extremely codependent relationship. Hawon is the only thing he has and he may have the tendency to self sabotage relationships (unintentionally) he keeps bringing up the possibility of hawon giving his stepmother money and basically forgiving her. I think jahan doesn’t want that bc he wants to be the most important person to hawon as hawon is to him he cherishes him in an unhealthy way (honestly they both do but again it adds up) However it’s a bit odd that Tangbang the man who literally buys information knew that hawon’s stepmom came back to visit him and when he shared that with kwon taeha he was fairly certain that hawon didn’t even know that his stepmom came to visit him years ago. Why/how did he know that at all. To me Kwon taeha also seems a bit suspicious of jahan but I might be misunderstanding that. Overall I think jahan has abandonment trauma which I think was triggered when he saw hawon reading his stepmother’s apology note again he was more visibly upset about it than hawon appeared because A: He’s probably been abandoned before and empathized and B: he feared hawon would forgive her and he’d be abandoned by him as well. Just my thoughts
I wonder if since they didn’t save game with the tape will pi bada still have the basement key next round? With a new character aware (maybe?) I wonder if my theories will come to fruition. Wonder what will happen once they unlock all characters I feel like there’s so much more now so that can’t simply be the way to end game. Lol or maybe it’s “the power of friendship” that wins them their game Lmaoo that would be so fucking funny thinking about it
ALICE IN BORDERLAND SPOILERS BELOW
To add on to my last AIB related theory what if just like in AIB they win and get to exit the game but have the choice to keep playing to find out more about the game and what’s really behind it all similar to how in AIB you can choose to become a game maker or leave the game. I know this author probably isn’t sitting down just taking plot points from other works but I do enjoy theorizing plus it’ll be fun to look back and see how far off I was if that is the case lol anyways I’m still more convinced with my AIB inspired “joint-coma theory” or they’re all stuck in a VR game theory
