Seme..how can I make you trust me?
Uke...well you raped me when I was unconscious in an earlier chapter and forcefully held my hand even though you knew I had a hangup about that, so...
Me..so you're sol...oh wait, this is yaoi. Sigh
The first couple is so much more fluffy and wholesome, this second one is so toxic. Poor Tony
He's crying and being hit and raped but my question is why isn't he fighting back? What are all those muscles for? Hell, how did he get captured? Is there something about being an uke that makes you weak? Not fair!
I mean let’s not victim blame. But I do get what you mean. So much yaoi has the tendency of rape victims “willingly” accept being raped or even encouraging it for no other reason than for readers to see sex. Often even weakening or undermining a character’s entire personality or in this case their physic as explanation for their lack of struggle or even acceptance. It really is an annoying quality and just lazy writing. Yet we don’t know for certain just yet what and why Taehoon is currently in this predicament to cast any judgments.
I'm definitely not victim blaiming. I didn't piose this question when Noah was raped by Sigmund. I just don't get why this big muscled guy is helpless. Maybe he was drugged or beaten unconscious and woke up in the middle, idk. I've only read 3-400 hundred of these mangas or so and I am new to the bara genre and I wasn't expecting the same uke stereotypes. I can only recall five or so where ukes fought back, not always successfully sadly, but they tried.
Like I said I understand your intention. But the fact that you keep referencing Taehoon’s muscles as some sort of cause for prevention of sexual assault or abuse is victim blaming despite it not being your intention. A perfect example of Terry Crew. Big burly muscle guy like him was still sexually assaulted at a party right in front of his wife. You can be helpless no matter what size or advantage that you have. I’m not accusing you victim blaming I’m just trying to explain your language leaned in to it.
Hmm, my issue really isn't Taehoon's character though I'm using him as an example; it's the stereotypes of 'helpless ukes' whether skinny and bishonen or bara. Terry Crew is prob not the best example because he held back from beating the crap out of the other guy bc he was more worried about being blacklisted in his career and police in America shoot to kill first then ask questions when it comes to unarmed black men, even those who are fighting in self defense. But I digress, I appreciate your feedback. I should word my comments more carefully and I thank you for understanding my intentions on point.
