I also worry about that. It seems the author is going to set the childhood sweetheart plot for Ian and tiel. Even though is a bit early for her age. It’s not love or crush, it’s kids concept of feelings. She feels grateful towards him because he saved her, he bought her so many stuff and is her first friend. She has childish thoughts about marriage like al kids do actually. She didn’t think about love, she thought of them being a mom and a dad. All kids do that. It’s very thought out actually by the authors. But for sure , she thinks of him as a very dear friend who may end up as her husband in the future because of the imprint. She understands that it’s not because of romance.
