It’s understandable, but at the same time it genuinely is not. I’ve been in a situation where i’ve wanted to go back in time to switch decisions for a man i loved but that’s the thing, you cannot do that and eunhyuk is stuck on the past when he’s currently in the present and constantly fucking up his own future with Su-ae by choosing to be non chalant and not communicating Remember ladies IF HE COULD HE WOULD.2025-11-15 00:32 marked

I get that he was not in a good place for everything that happened with him. But, now, when she is reaching out again… he doesn’t seem interested in making this work. You know like someone who is in love with the idea of “what could have been if I did this or that then” but are not interested in “I can take a chance and do this and that now and may be it will work” I see nothing but a sense of longing to what could have been not what he can make out if it. And that’s just feels a relationship is dead and over with. He might be interested in saying, “sorry, I did that” but not, “sorry, I did that and may be a chance to make this work again”.Also, the Dohwa part feels unnecessary forced if he is not the endgame. Like a torment for no reason.

It’s really interesting that “there is naught to gaze into but the self” means that Guts’ innermost “self” is represented by Griffith and Casca during the Golden Age. It helps drive home the point, I think, that once a desire for revenge burns out, you are left with the knowledge that you are still suffering. It goes to show that Guts’ character is driven by love far more than hate (or that they’re two sides of the same coin). Meaning, to me, revenge will never heal you, because you will always be left with the same loss that angered you in the first place. Seeing Griffith and Casca, probably coming from where they are always in Guts’ subconscious, was like a punch to the gut (lmao). Though I initially thought that Berserk might end with Guts actually killing Griff, it doesn’t seem so cut-and-dry like that anymore. That “finally” is really heartbreaking. It would be good to see him recollect himself out of devotion to the people he loves, which is the kind of person he has always fundamentally been. Anyway berserk is amazing rest in power miura my goat 2025-11-03 10:45 marked
I find it interesting that he sees Griffith with Casca, it kind of shows that he is defined by them, not himself. The past has a grip on him, controlling him, he’s not himself he is only the memories of something was once was but is no more while living in the upmost detachment from himself, I would guess that is why he is swallowed and represented on the ground while they are above with the depiction of Griffith looking down on him, the notion is re-enforced that he is nothing but a tool to Griffith. In his eyes there’s no “me” only “him” … he’d really need to find himself, hope the next chapter is more about self exploration and such.2025-11-03 10:44 marked

I'm sorry, let's hit a pause, and have an intervention for the sake of media literacy. Be aware before you proceed this has nothing to do with my opinion of the author's intentions or the inherent quality of their work, but....Jinx, as a fiction work IS NOT A DARK ROMANCE. While dark romance, as a genre, can explore problematic and taboo themes, it does so while maintaining two key elements in the narrative: agency (giving autonomy to each character, even through power imbalanced dynamics) and reciprocity (the most important---portraying the unconventional connection through these dark themes). To be more precise, a dark romance will showcase how all of these dark themes are actually the catalyst for the characters relationship, and NOT AN OBSTACLE TO OVERCOME.
It's clear that the narrative of Jinx didn't provided Kim Dan with these two attributes until just recently (with him going away), and even then, the author decides to do so in a very conditioned and limited way (he ends up returning to Jaekyung, under duress), so while Jaekyung is currently trying to make amends and change his ways with Kim Dan, it is not enough to meet the required conditions to call Jinx, a dark romance story..... (yet????)
Anyways, that's that.
If anyone is interested in BLs that properly explore dark romance, you might want to check out: Twittering birds never fly, Ten count, Let's go Karaoke, The summer Hikaru died, Peace of God, Ani no Chuukoku (anything by asada nemui really)
And if you are still confused about the subtleties:
Goth (Otsuichi) which is the most illustrative and textbook dark romance I can think of, though, it's F/M
That being said.
Happy Jinx day :D

honestly this story is very tricky to me it seems like all of them are at fault his sister was selfish really, his brother in law's feelings felt invalid and wanted to punish the brother by marrying his sister and the seme himself didn't even want to tell his sister that he was dating and didn't consider his partner's feelings. i really loved the storytelling even though it was a short one but i enjoy itヾ(☆▽☆)
