Being realistic doesn’t always automatically make a good story. Writing is more than accuracy. If you’re into this shit, alright, to each their own. But saying “in that way, it’s better than most yaoi” sounds a little far fetched. There’s better yaoi that accurately depict mental disorders.

Not far fetched at all. I’ve consumed thousands of titles in the last 15 years and the vast majority of BL are cookie cutter melodramatic or fluff stories that are pretty flat. Same formula over and over. The ratio is about 50:1 or more. So, I appreciate a story that breaks the mold in any way. Doesn’t have to be perfect, just inspired in some way. And yes, good writing does need some accuracy. Suspension of disbelief can only be pushed so far, especially when your story is set in the real world and tries to depict a real relationship. This manga depicts insecurity and self-centerdness that way to many people have pretty well. For that reason alone, it sets itself apart. Of course, you’re free to disagree.
Anyway, could you recommend any BL that has good depictions of mental disorders? I’ve only come across maybe a couple. Don’t feel like you have to, but you said you know of many and I’d really like to find some if that’s the case cause I haven’t had any luck. Too many romanticized or over dramatized depictions.
