No he isn’t he is scared and he’s mental health is really bad right now cause of all the rape manipulation and abuse. Also the fact is that he is poor with no power or connections, the MC and his friends have that, even if he runs away where should he go? (has no money and in his current state no one will accept him and maybe he will even land in even worse situation all he knows), they will always find him. I read the novel so I know and I also know how the story ends.
Spoiler ahead
He does in fact run away a few times. He also tries to off himself multiple time. When the Ml catches him he’s abuse gets so bad, he loses part of his eyesight and his skin is so frail when you touch it it starts bleeding not to mention how bad his material health is.
At the end of the story he jumps off a cliff, he loses his memories and all the injuries are dismissed due to him jumping off the cliff. Then he lives happily ever after with the Ml and the same stops his abuse due to him losing his memories so you see he is not stupid. He just can’t do anything about his situation. But you would get it more when you read the novel.

Clearly you don't read the novel, MC doesn't lose memory at all. The ML will beg for forgiveness and harm himself before they will get together.
