Okay first off lol, dan was drunk after he went to the doctor to get better. The doctor told him not to drink and he did. Jae was frustrated cuz he was worried and wants dan to get better, wheather its for his own desires or because he cares. So seeing dan drunk probably made him upset, he sobered him up by pouring water on him. Probably to wake him up so he doesnt do anything stupid, like idk drown himself. The next day he had somewhere to be so he didnt want to take dan in and then it leading to sex or sum. Secondly, jae frantically looking to see if the boy who drowned was dan shows in some form jae genuinely cares for dan. The hug was more of an action of relief on jaes part. You can hate jae sure but dont over look how the author is writing his “redemption arc” It seems now he genuinely cares for dans well being. This author enjoys slow burns, so im sure they are stretching out the “redemption arc” or even making it more realistic this time around. Nothing hanppends in an instant. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
