I think i get it now. Guwon is like a psycho child. He do those brutality and if he sees that you are not valuable it means you are nothing because no one telling him it was wrong or no one will speak their minds since they are affraid of him. Jinwoo speak his mind even he's afraid that's maybe why guwon like him or favor him than other's. We see it too from the start every time jinwoo talk to other villagers and if guwon comes the people sneak out or making excuses just to avoid him
