dude SAME i hate when authors randomly adds sa/rape
see, I didn't realize it coz I was having fun reading it, but this work really do have bad writing, doesn't it? it's absurd and the plotpoints are skippy, the redeeming factors were really just the fluff and chemistry between the leads, and now the author shot themself on the foot by diminishing the very little things that made their work so likeable in the first place. I'm genuinely curious how they'll move forward with this, based on that last rug pull, author might just pull another "forgive and forget" plot at the last minute and then everything gets resolved and they live happily ever after lol.
You see i excused the bad writing since i found it silly and amusing, i didn't even take it seriously to begin with bcuz all its themes are straight up absurd and comedy based
so when you take such a story and put something as heavy as rape in it you just ruin the appeal and like you said "shoot yourself in the foot" the author took away the only thing that carried their story which was undeniably stupid imo
