I think there's a war coming if I recall right from her flashbacks, so she's preparing what she can. The fruit thingy can be helpful with mana restoration i believe. Not 100% sure tho
it's to restore and/or increase mana, so she can summon powerful beasts with out putting her life in danger and protecting the people by stopping the "demon king" return that is going to happen in a year (that is the war)
remember she used a spell that disfigured and killed her so she could increase her mana, she knows her power is needed but she is looking another way, so she can go on living
