As far as I am aware, it is simply a case of a man whose preferences took priority over forming an actual connection. But then he just so happened to also find that connection after being surprised by her other sides as well.
I do have an understanding I just feel like in some ways he’s mainly not trying to form a connection since even the wedding happen so quickly but I could be wrong
