This chapter seemed like the panels were out of order. I mean, it's not too hard to rearrange them in my head, but damn.

That poor child is caught between his parents. Wanting to be everything his mother expects him to be and wanting nothing more than his father's attention and approval. All the while, both are toxic individuals with only their pride on their minds. I feel so badly for him. He has no options, no power, and he's going to make mistakes that are irreversible and will never get him what he wants. If anything, Ray would be the best mentor for him, but he can't even have that because Jiskar is too much of an obsessed prick to allow any type of freedom or kindness to his child and Ray.... I really hope that Shirak gets a happy ending of any sort but I don't feel like this comic is going that route for anyone. Death seems to be looming overhead for everyone involved.

Not only does this story give some pretty bad advice wrapped up as supposed good advice, but the artwork is pretty bad. It does get better after season 2, don't get me wrong, but the only saving grace is the seme's face. The continuity for movements from panel to panel is really off, making a lot of the poses and overall scene really awkward. General depth and continuation of flow to where body parts would actually be had the panel been larger is severely lacking. The sotey had a good general theme, olive if it has been done a million times, but the reasoning behind the main plot point was shallow and lacked severity for the reaction. The consequence/punishment didn't match the crime, in a sense. I also have no idea what happened in the second season to the uke's mouth, but there are some scenes where it's just weird as hell. The while drawing style is quite flat, as I mentioned before about the depth. Also, the "love rival" is a throw away. The story didn't need him, he made no major impact romantically, and was completely useless. He also disappeared just as quickly as he came. I saw no point in making him seem like a bigger player in the game than what he actually was.
I mean, if you're looking for something to kill time with, sure. Read it. It has some funny moments, but nothing is wrapped up smoothly and there are many plot holes left unfulfilled. Expressions, too, are hard to decipher on the characters so that's another loss. The whole thing was rather one-note. Kind of boring and disjointed and missing something important. Like chemistry, depth and general good writing capabilities. Is what it is. You can't have every manga be a good one. This one is mediocre at best. Not terrible, not good. Just bleh.

That gave me such anxiety. Lol.
They way my hubby proposed was equally as awkward and cute though. We planned a trip to one of our favorite places and it was almost a bust because the car broke down and we had to get towed the rest of the way (about 1hr and 45 min). We had to cancel the first day's plans to get the car fixed, but ended up having a great time walking along the pier and sight seeing in the meantime. Fhe next day we were able to go our favorite spot (a relatively famous zoo) and he'd been upset all day. Like, anxious upset, not angry. I kept telling him that everything was fine and the car's fine so let's just have fun. We were sitting at an outside table. I was eating a pretzel and he had his hands buried in a bag of doritos. He literally said, "I can't take it anymore! Here!" And plopped the box on the table. I was kind of shocked and he was going on and on about how the trip wasn't going as planned, how the ring felt like a weight in his backpack and how his plans were screwed up and he couldn't remember what he was going to say to me, but would I marry him anyway. All the while, he's shoving doritos into his mouth like a nervous maniac. I kind of stared at him and then was like, "Well, sure, but can you put the chips down first and ask me properly?" He was so embarrassed. I don't even think he realized he was eating chips during the whole thing. Then he got all shy and asked me to marry him more formally and I couldn't help teasing him a little more and asked if I had to put the ring on by myself. Lol. He later found a nice spot under some trees to tell me the speech he'd prepared, since he'd calmed down. No kneeling, thankfully. But it was so cute and adorable and the redhead here reminds me of him in that aspect. It was awkward and fun and so him. Something planned and perfect couldn't compare to that ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I knew he was after Siyeon. I think Yejun is just perks, like a trophy because they're mated and that's all he cares about. Appearances mean a lot to people. It will be interesting to see how Yejun fights back (small battles mean a lot in these scenarios) and how the alpha is going to change....if he changes. God, having been in an unwinnable situation many times, I feel so bad for Yejun and Siyeon. He literally has no choice and now has to rely on the person who not only hurt him deeply but he is scared of the most. I bet it will come to a point where Yejun will break. He'll either stay as an empty shell or he will leave everything behind, even Siyeon, because it becomes too unbearable. I hope neither scenarios happen, but considering how cruel and selfish Ian is, and how little he actually cares for Yejun, I can't really see any other scenario happening. I mean, there's a small chance that his instincts will take over a little because of the bond, and he'll protect Yejun and even feel jealous, but it's only going to be because he looks at Yejun as an object. This is going to be a bumpy, sad story.

I've been reading the web-novel (because it's not a traditional novel in any respect), and I can tell you flat out that the English translation of it is very lacking. In all other languages that I've found their names are Clough Vandyke, Aeroc Teiwind and Raphiel Westport. In the English translations (which are fan done, I realize), their names are Klopp Bandyke, Aeloc Teywind and Rayfel Westport. I'm positive that whoever is translating the novel has English as a second of third language (amazing fete in and of itself) and has a habit of switching "r's" with "l's" and "f's" with "p's", which is common when translating something from or to English when the original language is Asian origin. Why? Well, because most Asian languages don't have the "f" or "l" sound. Very typical. I learned this when I took Japanese in college and Korean later.
So, although the web-novel does provide some further insight to the goings on, it's not a necessary read unless you want to read ahead. The manga is covering the main plot points and doing a good job of it. Both, however, are disjointed to some degree and lacking proper flow. Although, I do concede that the web-novel is probably disjointed because of the translations. It's a great effort, don't get me wrong, and I'm not disparaging it in any way. I am saying that the web-novel is not completely accurate for what's actually being said and even has their names wrong...it's like reading a manga on here thats been haphazardly translated via Google. Gotta read between the lines and infer a LOT. Anyway. I'll post a link to the web-novel, but try to correct at least the names in your head, because they are wrong, for certain. But make sure you thank them because it's a lot of effort to translate anything and takes a lot of time!

I think what gets me the most as a native English speaker is how some of these European names are completely odd. Normally names from other European countries are actually normalized into Western society as an easily recognizable name despite the original spelling.

The name Klopp and Clough have totally different pronunciations. People from Asian countries don't realize that the "gh" sound will never sound like a "p", but an "f".

And then there's interpreting what Western names they might have intended. Like Aeloc could be interpreted as Eric due to "ae" and "e" having the same sound, "l" often being pronounced as "r" and after that, you're just filling in the blanks by replacing the "o" with an "i".

Raphael is fine. They just need to get the spelling right.

Klopp is generally a German last name...so in terms of writing a fantasy set in Europe it should be fine.

Taywind or Teywind, but not Teiwind.
    Van Dyke (separated)
    Westport was fine.

Clough is a name of French-British decent and isn't used very much anymore. Vandyke (unseparated), is actually an old blueblood surname of British decent. I agree with you about Aeroc's name. I think the author was being fancy for the fantasy side of things. Same with the spelling of Raphiel. Those two I believe were deliberate.
And I think the reasoning (total conjecture on my part) as to why Clough's name is rooted and the others aren't is because the other two died. Clough and his family went to love for generations while the other two's names were gone as if they'd been wiped out with their deaths. Although Westport is another old name of British decent, too, it's most certainly not as prominent. Teiwind is completely made up so I think the reason for that was to show how Clough completely wiped out Aeroc's existence on the first run through of the plot. Could be coincidence, though.
I mean, this author also has Clough saying "damn" and "fuck" and "damn" wasn't a swear word that was around until the 16th century and most certainly wasn't used by high society, and "fuck" didn't even exist until the 19th century. So I just kind of let the names go because I could tell only light research was done for the time period. That, and the use of "klopp/kloff" instead of "Clough" is completely the translators incorrect choice.

But the official manhwa translation, they use Kloff. Lin

Yes, but it's not written that way in any other version. I think they spelled it that way to try and make it easier on the readers for pronunciation. However, even some official translations I've come across in other manga have misspellings, wrong word usage and missing words. Quality for translators have gone down in manga in the past 2-3 years, I've noticed. Scanlation teams who do fan posts often times do a better job depending on the team than the officials. Most likely because those translating the officials have English as a second or third language. This can cause misinterpretation, wrong slang or dialect usage and common misspellings if unfamiliar. It bodes the same for anyone translating into a language that isn't their primary. It's just a common occurrence. Clough isn't even pronounced "kloff", its pronounced "clove". And when someone is translating a name they are unfamiliar with (and Clough is nearly a dead name by this generation), it's normal for a person to try their best to interpret it in the closest way possible. "Kloff" was probably their best attempt just taking the name from Korean to English. The name "Mary", for example, when written in Korean is actually "meli" when retranslated back. So that can cause a lot of problems if someone is unfamiliar with the name.

At least someone tries to comfort him. I mean, sure Mr. Panther is still a complete asshole for acting as he did in the beginning, but at least he's changed and is trying to treat our MC better. .
Also, I think that Almuten was always in the brother. I think he was masquerading in his skin, or just under the surface for quite some time until the brother proved to be useless, which, unfortunately, he was the moment he went into that hospital. It would explain why the brother was so insane. He literally had Almuten in his head the whole time. And when that guy from the Team Rocket came, it was more of a "come home" thing than anything. I hope his poor brother is finally at peace. I mean, even if Almutrn wasn't inside him since they manifested as children, he could never get a proper guiding from his brother, but couldn't stand anyone else doing it. That would drive anyone crazy. Our MC is going to lose his will to fight once he finds out his brother is dead. Or maybe he'll run away because the contract is void, now, because blondie was supposed to protect his brother and he didn't hold up his end of the bargain.... Maybe Mr. Panther will try and help him escape.......I sense more romantic angst coming soon.

Anyone else see the similarities between Cliff and Nergal? Not to mention they both can inter-dimensional travel. I'm wondering if they're related, or the same person. I would feel kind of icky if Nergal turned out to be Cliff's son from another dimension......
Anyway, I'm totally not into tentacles at all, but Mephisto can do whatever he likes to me. It would be interesting if Leon starts to fall for Mephisto. I bet Nergal would be pissed. Lol.

    NotYourDookDook December 31, 2023 2:18 pm

hmm yeah Nergal and Cliff do look alike a lot. Also, remember in that one chapter when Nergal is waking Leon up or something, and Leon wakes up saying something that got covered for the viewers, but Nergal freezes up when he hears it? I wonder what that was... there was also another part when Leon accidentally tells Nergal he thought he was someone else (Cliff maybe?) and that pisses the shit outta Neural lmao... perhaps he knows about Cliff? idk but there does seem to be a connection. all this aside, do u feel like Nergal has feelings for Leon? idk why it just seems so...

Yeah, I remember. I just picked this manga up and read it all in about two days, so it's all very fresh. He definitely called Nergal "cliff" in the blurred out bubble. I do think Nergal has feelings for Leon, that's pretty obvious, and I also think that if Cliff and Nergal aren't related by blood, they're definitely from the same world. I wonder if that's who Nergal was searching for. I remember him mentioning something about trying to find someone. I wonder if Cliff ran away from some responsibilities from his home world and had no choice but to return. . . Or if Leon was who Nergal was searching for because of his power and womb and killed Cliff and now carries a lot of guilt and also a lot of jealousy because Leon loved him so much. There are many possible scenarios right now because not many facts have been solidified yet. But there's definitely a connection between the three of them that goes deeper than I think we want to find out. Lol.

    NotYourDookDook December 31, 2023 3:26 pm

Oh I was thinking the blurred bubble was some high tier magical shit that triggered Nergal, or something that made Nergal figure out that Leon aint from this dimension? If it was Cliffs name, there wouldn't be a reason to blur it though... but maybe it was. It's hard to tell at this point. I forgot Nergal said he was searching for someone??? that's sus... hmmm if he's searching for someone and is presently still gone, then I think the first scenario u suggested seems more fitting, cuz they already have Leon, also cuz I think they mentioned that Nergal is from Dark Fall and Cliff isn't, so they aren't from the same world... I wonder what their connection is. But itd be super cool if Nergal actually did kill Cliff and Leon finds out and kills his ass lmaoヾ(☆▽☆). Yeah ur right, theres sooooo much more to this we can't tell cuz the story so far has been 90% smut and 10% lore (I aint complainin tho lolol), but Im wondering if perhaps in the end if they all turn their backs on each other lol. and you're right, its obvious Nergal has a thing for Leon, but damn like u shouldn't let the person u like get raped like, is getting a baby all that matters to Nergal like wtfffffff lmao im all in for the bumpy ride tho... this shits interesting af .(๑•ㅂ•)و✧

Well, Cliff's name hadn't been used yet and Leon's memory seems a little fuzzy so I think it was a suspence tactic by the writer. Or they just hadn't made up their mind about Cliff's name in general.
Even with the smut, the story is actually really interesting. I wasn't expecting what I got in plot. Lol. The summary did not really give a good overview.
Now that you've said it, I'm wondering if Nergal is Cliff's alertness reality/parallel universe doppelganger. And the reason that Leon is so special is because he doesn't have any. He is the only one of himself in any of the universes and that's why he's so special...it makes me wonder if killing your counterpart from the other worlds boosts your powers significantly, like Jet Li in The One.
Oh, also, I dont think Nergal actually knows that anyone is screwing Leon outside of that first incident in the dungeon. Because Mephisto clearly lied to Beryl and Deus when he said that Nergal told them to have their way with him. I mean, he literally just said no one is to touch him again. Yet. I think Mephisto is really wanting Leon to get pregnant so he can study him more. He's definitely obsessed with his research...

    NotYourDookDook January 1, 2024 4:35 am

oh ok, my timeline about this manhwa is a bit messed up cuz of the hiatuses all year. Damn it'd make allota sense if it was Cliffes name cuz Nergal looked triggered af lol.
FOR REAl, mannn when I started it last year it was up till the point where Leon was prisoned and I WAS NOT aware that there'd be plot either, it seemed like a porno then... (well it is regardless, but still--)
WOAH THAT PARALLEL DOPPELGANGER THING SOUNDS LIKE AN INTERESTING IDEA. I haven't read The One though so idk the whole concept of it, but the way you put it seems like it could actually be what's going on rn cuz it'd be hard to explain the plot otherwise.
WTF NERGAL DOESNT KNOWWWWWWWWW?????? LMAO HES BOUND TO LOOSE HIS SHIT SOMETIME SOON THEN WHEN HE FINDS OUT LMAOOOOOOOOO istg, I like Nergal cuz he's hot af and seems pretty decent compared to the other loonies (lol someone in the comments said that u know shits messed up when Nergal seems normal as compared to the rest) but idk Leon gets Cliff flashbacks and is super upset when he's with Nergal so I don't like him..plus Leon trusted him when he was strong... but hey, even that proves your theory of them being alternate universe doppelgangers .
For real, Ive noticed the authors been making them 'have turns' (ik that sounds awful :"}) with Leon, its first Deus then Beryl then Mephisto then Nergal and then lore bomb. When he was with Mephisto last time it was SOLELY research purposes loooooool :"} even now its kinda Mephistos demons more than it is him himself... Ive read the raws (spoiler ahead: and it kinda seems like Mephisto hates Leon cuz Leons the reason his body got taken over) so yeah :"}... they're all wackos tbh. Nergals the only one who's kinda sane, I was lowkey expecting something outta Beryl but nope. Im wondering if Cliff ever had any feelings for Leon at all :"} probably not cuz he ditched him after his confession, but maybe he didnt ditch him and had other stuff to deal with so he left??? idk im more delulu bout Cliff coming back than Leon is lol. Damn I never thought something with so much rape and smut would be so interesting tho (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

Like a time lapse happened? I don't think so. Their physical characteristics are significantly different. from eyes to skin color. And Nergal's blatant upset over Leon pining for someone else leads me to believe that Nergal and Cliff are either related or have a history together. But yeah, I totally like Mephisto. I've always been a suckered for the intellectual, obsessive type.

His abandonment issues are so severe. Couple that with an obsessive personality and low self esteem, and we have a nice little cocktail of someone with extreme anxiety and control issues.
