I love them but feel like the story could have been better explored. Like, some elements of their childhood, family relationships, and what happened at their coming of age ceremony as well as some other stuff, everything gave me a feeling of "oh, I want to see how this develops" but the author just never did it? It's a bit underwhelming bc I actually liked both characters A LOT, they're so cute together and I can tell their feelings run deep and their story is beautiful, ig this is just a case of an author having a great plot that doesn't match up with their writing skills, though perhaps this might actually be more of a publishing company issue? Bc most of the problems could be solved by expanding the flashbacks but that would take at least another chapter and that can be up to the publishers availability
Y'all have bad taste, Shizume is so fucking perfect, he's so caring and sweet. Actions speak louder than words and Shizume's actions SCREAM "I love you" in every chapter, it's easy to tell someone you love them, the difficult thing is to make them feel loved day by day. The ppl complaining about the seme have zero interpretation skills and failed to notice the "show, don't tell" approach the author took, Shizume never says "I love", but he defends his lover, cares for him, goes out his way to do things he likes in and out of bed, even if sometimes it's not something he feels 100% comfortable with, he is vulnerable when he's talking about himself to Tomo and comforting when Tomo shows his own vulnerability in return, even without the oh so precious "I love you" these two still have great communication, way better than many irl couples, so stop complaining and start actually interpret what you read
(Koh is still an asshole though, and the fact that they forgave him pisses me of, wtf that guy deserves to get kicked in the balls)
i mean yeah shizume’s actions show his love for kiumi, but him “going out of his way” is debatable. actions speak louder than words, and shizume not wanting to be seen in public with kiumi speaks volumes.
for one, i also don’t mind the lack of verbal confirmations/confessions, i also believe shizume has shown his love hence why kiumi FEELS loved. but i also really understand the thoughts of others who think otherwise. because esp with homosexual relationships, being proud of your partner is a big deal.
not to say that shizume can’t be scared or anything, but there’s a bit of internalized homophobia in him, and yes it’s something kiumi understands and shizume compensates for it too, but it’s not hard to understand why some people would feel sorry for kiumi and his never ending patience and ability to be so understanding.

Miscommunication has never felt so good. Idk why, I usually HATE miscommunication tropes to death, but this just hurts so good, ugh. It's like-
Kiyoi from Hira's pov: cruel, unfeeling king
Kiyoi from Kiyoi's pov: BIGGEST TSUNDERE OF ALL HISTORY OF TSUNDERES
Really, the mental gymnastics these two are doing to make their perfectly reciprocated feelings not meet up is amazing, truly, next level shit (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
for real the only miscomm that i can tolerate
