I also think that his true form is a spider. If anyone here have seen Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl), Enma Ai's demon boss is in spider form! There must be something about demon and spider....

Check out capter 224.. Mo looked a bit older and asked He tian "when did you come back?" Meaning he (He tian) was gone for a while.. and notice also how the first few chapters started when Jian yi is already in high school and Zhen xi is in college (?) I guess. I think Jian yi stopped school when he went MIA.
