My hypothesis is that, Hwisoo was aware of his sexual orientation but he couldn't accept it due to some circumstances or traumatic experience perhaps, so he forced himself to be a straight man. And when he decided to get married, that's when his alter ego (Yushin) immerged. It's like Yushin expressing Hwisoo's genuine desires.
