I know the author wanted this to be a slow burn, but this is just too much. Especially when we’re seeing absolutely no empathy from Jaekyung even after he saw the state Dan was in… at this point I feel like there’s no bringing back the characters from this.
What does her having a shitty childhood have to do with their relationship? I’m really struggling to see how her trauma is related at all to the potential homophobia they might face in a small village. And just cuz other people will judge them and be disapproving doesn’t mean you have to follow what other people think and how they act according to that homophobia? Like, just cuz everyone else is an ass doesn’t mean you have to be too for the sake of blending in. And if the author wanted to address the potential homophobia and if they are ready to commit to that, there were ways to do that which would’ve made more sense. Especially since their communication thus far has been good and they address things directly like adults.
I understand that he’s coming from a place of thinking she’s some sort of spoiled noble lady, but that doesn’t excuse him ignoring her emotions and opinions repeatedly. While they both could communicate better, it feels like he’s making a lot of assumptions and using those assumptions as an excuse to infantilize and disrespect her. He’s constantly treating her like her supposed life experience of being a spoiled noble lady would have had no struggles, which is just disrespectful in my opinion. Like, everyone has their own struggles in life regardless of if they were worse than his or not it doesn’t mean that it’s any less valid. And yes, I understand that it’s coming from a place of concern but it’s just annoying to see him repeatedly take out his anger on her. Honestly she’s been just as frustrating, but as of right now the author has only informed us of her past so it’s all we can work with in the context of their relationship until author clues us in on where Riftan is coming from and why he’s acting like a dipshit.
Why does it suddenly feel like this plot point is moving super fast? Like Luis Everett was just brought back up a couple chapters ago ┑(￣Д ￣)┍

This honestly has a very similar dynamic to the typical relationships we see in these stories: a damsel in distress, a big miscommunication, and a strong lead. Only the strong lead is the woman and the man is following her lead. He relies on her to fix things and provide him happiness because he knows she’s more than capable, while also supporting her with his own strength. This is really refreshing, especially with how whipped he is. I feel like this story is really well written and I wish more female lead characters were written this way.

The author is, in my opinion, a bit shameless in the way they’re trying to make us pity Jaekyung after all this time. You can already tell that the author is about to utilize all the same tropes that other stories do to make us understand the ml and his behaviors, while not realizing that they’ve taken they’re character to the point of no return. Like okay, Jaekyung has probably gone through some pretty messed up shit in his childhood. But can u really look at his potential past and say that it’s worse than what Dan has gone through in the past or even present? And even if it is worse, that is no excuse when he’s rich and has access to mental health professionals that can help fix his character flaws. Whereas Dan has had no money, but manages to have empathy for others regardless and is kind to even the shittiest of people like Jaekyung. I understand everyone reacts to their trauma in a different way, but that trauma reaction is an explanation, not an excuse.

Ml leads got nothing on Bach. Ml is over here flirting with another girl while Bach is accepting his feelings for mc while not knowing that she’s a girl, just accepting her for who she is. Plus he’s hotter in my opinion
By this time in BJ Alex we were already starting to see the ml regretting his behavior, why is this story taking longer on the character development when it’s arguably more necessary in this story? I get a slow build but that’s kinda pointless if your audience has already given up on the characters
