listen, im all for representation. im neurodivergent, queer and chronically ill, so its always nice to see people like me in the media i consume. but something about this feels SO forced.

every time a new featured character is introduced, theres something very obviously “unique” about them (disability, disorder, unique looks), which in real life simply isnt the case (at least not as commonly as portrayed in this story).

i love the idea of the main characters all being unique in some way, but itd be nice to show some “normal” allies along the way too to make it more realistic. otherwise it just kinda feels like a bunch of self insert characters/ characters added for diversity points, which bothers me.

im gonna keep reading bc i feel like it has some potential in the mcs relationships and storyline. mild spoilers below!!

also the whole situation with penelopes crush is INSANE and its wild that the sister got mad at him for rejecting her. LIKE DUDE SHE IS A HIGHSCHOOLER AND HES AN ADULT TF
