In the cover,Dan is suffering from emotional damage and jk is behind him ( like their shirts are even the same in the last panel of chapter 59) holding Dan's wrist. No other person in the cover, it's very understandable that jk is only the ml. And the drama only evolves between the two of them.

Second season will be longer than the first one according to her interview. Well jinx is jinx, that's the thing that makes this story kind of different than all the mainstream yaoi, it's this SPECIFIC fact that it not about romance at all, YET. I think it underlines a lot of other stuff, that's why I personally can't see how this will turn into a convincing love story, but again it's a yaoi and we need Jk and Dan to love each other at the end so... Let's see how it goes. (I think it's the toxicity of the plot that is keeping me so hanged to the suspense, I too am super curious to see how the author is gonna fix that shit lol)

It's interesting that people see this manhwa differently. I do see romantic moments and chemistry between Jaekyung and Dan throughout Season 1, and I know some other readers do as well. I'm not wondering how the author will "make it work" because it makes sense to me that it will. Readers will see what they want to see, and will understand it or not.

For me personally I don't know if I can trust Mingwa fully, she doesn't seem to take this toxicity for what is really is. She said in an Q&A that she enjoyed making all the sex scenes (bruh), and the way she likes to portray Kim Dan as being a cute little hamster is pretty weird to me, he's far from that the same way we're far from a classic dominant daddy/ cute baby boy relationship. Dani has so much resistance towards hardships in life, he's a real decent person with amazing qualities at work + loads of patience and tact. And at the end all this is just presented like hamster vs wolf relationship. It's like Mingwa doesn't even know the lines between what's '' an okay toxicity, a little possessive but it's okay'', and what is totally immoral like abuse and rape. That's why I don't know if I can trust her but that only adds to the suspense for me

I believe I have to disagree with you here. I don't think Mingwa doesn't know what toxicity is as she has clearly said that she loves the whole toxic top buildup who grovels and changes for better. Also the tags of the manhwa already gives us a fair warning of exactly what we are getting ourselves into that includes dubcon, toxic top, submissive bottom etc so I don't really understand why people still complain about it. Regarding the question of what is immoral well this is fiction and both jjk and dan are not real so as long as peeps know what's fiction and what's reality there shouldn't be any issues.

What you said basically applies for all the 90% of BLs out there lmao. Potn, low tide in Twilight, R&C etc all the tops have raped their bottoms but they all got redemption and very much loved by peeps today. I didn't take your comment to be a hate post :) I knew what you were saying, and that's why I thought it was interesting that we all have different perspectives when reading the same story. For example, you don't think Jaekyung likes Dan yet, but I think he's in love with Dan, maybe even before Dan fell in love with him. It's just that he can't recognize those feelings right now and is emotionally guarded.
Although you don't see chemistry or love, you still like the story. Some readers who have the same perspective as you might hate the story. I guess this shows that it's not really the author but the reader who makes their own reading experience, and that an author might not be able to make it work for everybody.

That's why I liked your post. You said everything I wanted to say, but I don't know how to express myself properly in English. I'm not hating either. We're just at the beginning of the plot! and of course, we all know that the ending will be romantic between the two. I'm anxious to see that happen, but so far it's been nothing but difficulties. It's impressive that in 50 chapters the author built such implicit suspense, everyone is anxious for the chs!

Your pov on jinx is interesting and it's true every reader has a different perspective on how they perceive the characters and the story as a whole. I guess that's what makes it special.

Regarding the author making it work I do agree with you to some extent as you can't satisfy and please everyone and I'm sure there will be many peeps who would hate Jaekyung even after he gets his redemption. However what I meant is how a 'good writing' can change one's perspective of a character or in this case jjk and dan's relationship. I'm a big sucker for morally grey characters who go through the character development and to me it mainly depends on how well the author executes it which is also equally important. And yes that's exactly what I meant when I made that post.

I too know what I'm doing by reading this manhwa as I'm STILL reading it. Otherwise I would have left. I'm just questioning Mingwa's choices in her writing and I never said it was plain bad story at all, in fact it's the only manhwa I care about and I know it's still ongoing, that was never the point :)
As for the fictional part about rape, I think there's a huge misunderstanding about what is there to create the building elements of a fictional story and what feeds the idea of '' romance '' (at any stage that is). You should watch the video of Laby on YouTube about Jinx if you haven't already, she made a clear analysis about it.
Anyway, i'm not planning to debate about this topic any longer especially if things are getting mixed up (like it tends to happen very often on this website with this manhwa specifically), it's clear we're all having different opinions on the matter, all I care about is the progress of this story that I can't wait to seeeee

I agree that Mingwa's writing this season could influence some of the readers' perspectives. Actually, it probably won't be hard for her to convince many people to like Jaekyung and his relationship with Dan, whether the writing is good or not.
I also agree that character development is important for toxic red flags like Jaekyung, and if it's done satisfactorily it may change a reader's pov. But I still think that some readers (this is not directed at you) rely too much on the author to pretty much spell and/or draw it out for them, putting ALL of the responsibility on the author to change their minds about something they loathe. An author is responsible for their creation and for the message they are trying to convey. Readers also have to take responsibility for their own interpretations, even if that requires some work (e.g. thoroughly reading and keeping an open mind to understand the content). So, for those readers who hate the story and Jaekyung with a passion, I don't think it's fair for them to expect Mingwa to work miracles to change their minds.

There was the little camaderie when Dan and him hung out, doing board games and shit. That was about it I think.

Yeah, Jaekyung is not that bad. The haters go overboard about how bad he is, even saying he's evil lmao. Jaekyung evil? If he was, he never would have thought to help Dan or his grandmother. He would not have wasted his time visiting Granny, spending hours of his busy life talking with her, showing concern, and letting her hold his hand. He would not have risked himself rescuing Dan from the loan sharks. And the list goes on. It's ridiculous how the haters view Jaekyung. I think many of them haven't even fully read the story. And if they have, they aren't paying attention or they just love to hate.
