Toxic Positivity - he kept bringing out things from his planet, thinking that would make a person happy. Same in people, they think that bringing out positive words or other positive things is the ultimate "happy pill".
Insanity - doing the same thing over and over expecting the same result - exactly what Takopii did.

It is by understanding that you can truly heal a person, which Takopi ultimately did - he understood and genuinely sympathized with both Shizuka and Marina.

And that is why I like this manga, Takopi is the representation of the people around a problematic person. The toxic positive, the "you can do it if you try again harder," and then there is the one who understands and listens.

What u consider romanticizied abuse might not be the same for another. Its subjective. All art is.

We don't know the author personally and what's going on in their mind and how they came up with the story. Unless we know them personally, all our comments are just opinions and not the truth.

no thats not how this works.
its either romanticized or it isnt, its not subjective.
the author ether portrays dark themes seriously and realistically and with the appropriate gravity and consequences or they dont.
dark romance is a genre thats romanticizes abuse as the perpetrator and victim end up together all lovey dovey happy ending.
now why would someone write a dark romance? i can only make a logical assumption on that, an educated guess if you will. and that would be because they want to live out a fantasy.

This is an art form. Just like painting, poetry etc. Ppl have depicted rape and abuse in almost all forms and there have been ppl who find it tasteful and some that find it disgusting. Subjective.
At the end of the day everyone knows that abuse is bad.
How an artist chooses to depict it is up to them. Thankfull they put warnings so ppl can avoid it or read it willingly

not all depictions of rape and abuse in "art" have the same intention or purpose.
in fact most depictions of abuse in fiction are treated seriously.

but when you write/draw about a toxic relationship that ends happy and disregards any sort of phycological or realistic effect as well as narrative integrity, what is the purpose of that? dark sexual fantasy most likely.
and its no secret that pornography is used as an artistic outlet for sexual fantasies.
im not even saying thats necessarily a bad thing, im just making a point that there is an objective distinction between depiction of abuse in art and depiction of romanticized abuse in art.

You're right, some ppl make art of abuse to glorify/fetishize it.
Its only solidly confirmed when the artist themself speaks up about about their work but until then we can only assume its either a fetish or just another way they chose to depict abuse.
I really do understand what u mean because what abusive relationship irl has a genuine happy ending for both victim and abuser? None. But maybe this reoccuring theme of "happy ending" is a way for some artists to cope in their own way.
They arent all like this and some authors and artists can be sick individuals
