Tbh while I'm well aware of the rape warnings (hell even the manga mentioned it repeatedly without sugarcoating it) I still can't help but feel bad not for Kyo but Hokusai. Kyo is quite aware of his circumstances (albeit he deserved better of course) but Kyo was the one who felt helpless that time, being the witness (and someone who could have done something to prevent it).

I can't really explain how I felt after reading this...
I remember dropping this before because I was irked by the female lead. But rereading this again I can relate to her anxiety and eventually see the slow and subtle character development.
